“April Showers Bring May Flowers.” That’s how the saying goes. We understand the importance of physical rain to the cycle of life, but what about spiritual showers?

Drought in Scripture was often tied to spiritual problems. Elijah once went to the wicked king, Ahab and told him that Yahweh would cut off the rain in the land, and it was so.

A sign that God’s blessings were back was when the showers resumed.

Sunday we will talk about the need for showers and how to open the floodgates.

Our last installment on the Book of Ruth this Sunday.

The final scene reminds us that There Is A Redeemer! We’ll look at the gift Yahweh gives Ruth and Boaz.

We’ll also look at a bunch of names that appear at first glance, useless in this study.

A closer glance reveals a story within a story. We end the study with five crucial principles about redemption.

This study helped me choose more clearly the storyline for my life.

This coming Sunday, Easter Sunday or Resurrection Sunday many pulpits will be busy with messages of Resurrection evidences.

These messages are good, and the material internally and externally is not in short supply.

It has been my experience, however, that many will not be convinced, not because of the lack of evidence, but a lack of interest.

That shouldn’t be, because our culture is highly obsessed with the body, and the Resurrection is all about the body.

We will talk this Sunday about God being interested in more than our spirits in the message entitled, That Same Spirit Dwells In Us!

This Sunday, Love Requires Thinking, Too! tells the story of how Boaz handled a significant obstacle in making Ruth his wife.

Motivated by love, Boaz had to come up with a business plan to secure Yahweh’s favor.

He carefully thought out his options, went to the city gate, and waited on God to provide the opportunity.

And God did.

Love is more than passion and dreaming; it involves the brain.

Boaz will provide us with a lesson on shrewdness and faith in action, and also reveal what made the plan work.
